My Story

update 7 May 2024

Izzy is doing well, regular tests to make sure leukaemia is not coming back.

In BCH today for bone density scan.

Later Claines schools are doing some sponsored water runs, starting g today and running to Thursday. A quick tot up of donations shows they have added £700 plus as of this morning, thank you! If you are donations Re the water runs, please put a note.

e hope. To get along to School later to test out some water pistols.

Isobel, my daughter has been diagnosed with Leukaemia three times, aged 1, 5 and 8.

She has been fortunate to complete two courses of treatment and ring the end of treatment bell twice, in May 2019 and September 2022. Less fortunate to relapse 11 months after finishing treatment the first time and again in January 2024.

There have been many ups and downs, lots of friends made, good times had, but also dangerous infections, the tumoil of relapse and ward buddies sadly lost.

As of 13 March, Izzy is receiving car-t treatment.  In Feb some of her blood cells were sent to Amsterdam. They have been modified to attack leukaemia cells. She received them back last week... So far all on track. 🤞

Children with Cancer UK part funding clinical trials Izzy has benefitted from, and provided occasional treats for Izzy and her siblings over the last few years. The contributed to trials of car-t, which is a new treamtnet Izzy is benefitting from today.

I am hoping we can raise money to support further work with for other families by Children with Cancer UK, such as research into better, kinder treatments, and some good times for other children going through tough treatments.
