About us
NAYC (Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs) & ACUK (Action Centres UK) is a diverse organisation here to help and educate young people, especially, but not exclusively, through their leisure-time activities to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and as members of society.
Originally founded in Northampton, our work has expanded to facilitate youth work across the UK. In Northamptonshire, we have a charitable youth organisation (NAYC) that focuses on youth development where we set up, support and train youth groups and youth leaders. We have a wide variety of groups we support including uniformed organisations, sports, LGBTQ+, after-school, faith and disability groups. We are passionate about releasing the potential of all young people to help them grow, develop, and build confidence through the activities, socialisation and nurturing that a youth group can provide.
We also have 3 Action Centres (ACUK); Pioneer in Shropshire, Whitemoor Lakes in Staffordshire and King's Park in Northampton. The centres were built to be places that schools, youth groups, faith groups, families, charities, and organisations can use to bring young people, receive training and host events. We believe there is so much power in young people experiencing a residential, so we want to build and maintain centres that make this possible. We strive to provide the best activity experience, both outdoor and indoor, out there because we want to see young people flourish in learning new skills, developing new friendships and gaining a fresh confidence for their future.
We aim to provide top quality centres that can facilitate life changing youth work, places that youth leaders, teachers and parents enjoy and feel safe bringing their young people. These centres have a variety of activities available between them including, climbing, abseiling, high ropes, zip wire, roller skating, trampolining, caving, tennis, kayaking, sailing and more, all designed to challenge whilst having enormous amounts of fun!
Our runners are raising money this year to build up our Bursary Fund. Our centres have received more requests than ever from schools and groups asking for financial assistance as many families cannot afford to send their child on a school residential or to a sporting activity. Unfortunately, this means they are missing out on a once in a life-time school residential or participation in a holiday camp or sporting session, leaving them isolated from their friends and peers and not benefitting from the developmental experience.
£5.25 pays for a young people to access a roller skating session

The 2024 TCS London Marathon takes place on Sunday 21 April 2024 and we have a fabulous team of runners who will be pounding the streets to raise money for our work with young people. Any support you are able to give will be life-changing for some of the most disadvantaged young people we work with. Thank you.
