My Story

On April 21st I took part in the 2024 London Marathon to raise much needed funds for Back Up Trust.

As I am wheelchair dependent I pushed myself around the 26 mile course in my manual wheelchair. The Trust is a national charity that inspires people affected by spinal cord injury to get the most out of life.

They support people across the UK to rebuild their confidence and become as independant as possible.  Back Up services are designed and delivered by people affected by spinal cord injury, delivering vital support to individuals and families in a similar situation.

There is still time to make a donation to this fantastic charity on the 'Donate' link.

Thank you for supporting me on this great adventure.  It may be challenging but Back Up has really helped me since I became wheelchair dependant in 2019.  I have become a wheelchair tennis fanatic, hand cycle and can walk a few steps on a Zimmer frame.  Not bad for someone who was told they will never walk again.

What ever card you are dealt with, deal with it.  Never give up
