My Story

Hello everyone, thanks for being here..

WOW - little me, running the 2024 London Marathon. BETS ARE ON. And so are my running shoes!

If you know me at all, you know I am a huge nature and animal lover - wildlife conservation has always been a cause close to my heart and being a city gal I haven’t had many opportunities to go out in the wild and do much good work. However, the remarkable global conservation efforts undertaken by WWF have truly inspired me, doing the work I always wish I could have. Hence, motivating me to step outside my comfort zone and merge my passion for the environment with this incredible (and super scary) opportunity to make a small change and support the incredible work WWF are doing.

The urgency to tackle climate change and safeguard biodiversity has never been more pressing. From protecting endangered species to promoting sustainable practices, WWF's expertise and innovative approaches perfectly resonate with my vision for a greener and more harmonious future. This is why I have chosen to fundraise for WWF and support them during the 2024 London Marathon.

Though running may not be my forte, I am driven by an unwavering determination to make a tangible difference. I have never ran a marathon and although I am not ready for a 42k run (AT ALL), I want to show that although we might not be ready for change, the time is NOW. Global warming and the pressures on the environment won’t stop because we are not ready. We have to become ready - which is what I will do to prepare for this challenge in the hopes it will inspire change for a brighter, greener and fairer future.

I also want to add a note that this will not only be a physical challenge for me, but a huge mental challenge. I want to say now that any support, be it funds or just kind and supportive words are appreciated beyond that I can express. I want to prove that if you put your mind to it, it can be done (even if at a very slow painful pace).

So, join me in this extraordinary mission to run for wildlife, combat climate change, and support WWF at the London Marathon. Let's lace up our shoes, embrace the beauty of nature, and leave a lasting impact on the world we call home. We only have one. And thats coming from a proper Astrophysicist! So let’s look after it.

Together with WWF we can help keep the places we love alive.

Donate if you can, appreciate it!

Wish me luck - EEEK!!

with love, Ally Cat x
