My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I am running the 2024 TCS London Marathon for the Royal British Legion.

I am taking part for the Royal British Legion for two reasons:

i. This is a charity with close family connections. The Poppy Factory was founded by my great-great-uncle, Major George Howson, in 1922 (https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/stories/story-of-the-poppy-factory), see also banner picture above; and

ii. At the age of 50, I will be crossing the start line 25 years after my first London Marathon (1999, see profile pic!).

As such, whilst done a few marathons in the interim, this one has a special affinity and any contribution would be gratefully received.
