My Story
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
This year I will be running it for the first time and will be running it for the Kent based charity: Martha's Trust.
Martha Trust support people with profound physical and multiple learning disabilities. They encourage them to explore the world around them and take an active role in their community, all whilst inpsiring and allowing them to reach out and face new challenges as they help them to fulfil their full potential.
Martha Trust offers care in a bright, modern, safe and stimulating environment through the very highest standards of nursing care, state-of-the-art facilities and a warm and loving home for life. Everything is designed to improve the physical health and emotional wellbeing of the people they care for.
- Their therapy programmes include physiotherapy, reflexology, massage and music therapy and are tailored to the needs of the individual.
- Their hydrotherapy pools with their high tech-sound and light systems are an effective way to deliver physiotherapy – and a great way to relax and have fun.
- Their activities and day trips ranging from horse riding to gardening, help people to explore the world around them and take an active role in the community.
- Their homes sit among beautifully landscaped sensory gardens which residents and their families can enjoy together..
I'm thrilled to be running for such a great charity and would really appreciaste any donations so Martha Trust can continue their amazing work for the disabled community.
