My Story

Most of you that know me, know my youngest daughter Coralie had one of the toughest starts to life ever. Born 3 months early on May 24th 2023 with a large brain haemorrhage, a hole in her heart and only 748grams.

A few weeks later her bowel twisted on itself, she needed emergency surgery, she recovered, came home for a week, life was good, then some more bowel twisted on itself. She almost died, but she's tough like her mum, survived 4 more surgeries to correct the original issue, endless blood tests , needles, days without food, 2/3 of her small bowel removed, she's now being partly fed through a line into her heart for many months to come and will be in hospital for a while.

She's was looked after on NICU at Chelsea, St Marys PICU  and Great Ormond St NICU. Almost every single nurse, doctor, surgeon, therapist, receptionist, cleaner, porter, radiographer showed compassion, kindness and went above and beyond caring for all of us, and we're eternally grateful and humbled.

Now I'm known for many things, but running is not one of them. I've never run more than 10km in my life!

Coralie however is an inspiration to me, a real role model aged 3 months and all of 2.2kg.

So I'm running the London Marathon for Cosmic, the fantastic charity that supports parents of children on intensive care at St Marys and Queen Charlottes. They helped us stay sane, feel human and normal during dark times. They provided us with a really nice place to stay near Coralie, food, free parking, gym membership, and counselling.

Times are so hard for everyone, especially with inflation but please do try and donate something, anything to this amazing cause, and i'll commit to running 26.2 miles without giving up, just like she didn't give up. I've already started, currently on 5.5miles so a long way to go.

Love to you all, hopefully you can meet her soon xx
