My Story

I can't believe I actually did it! It was the best day! Thank you all so much for your kind support. I'm delighted to have raised over £3,000 for Contact x x x x

An opportunity has come up to run The London Marathon this year with a charity place for Contact, having turned 40 in December now seems like as good a time as any to challenge myself and do something to help enhance the lives of families with disabled children.

The London Marathon’s aim is to create an opportunity for participants “to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world”. This really resonates with me, although I’m not sure how much fun I’ll be having! I enjoy running but it’s fair to say I’m not a natural runner and have never run further than a half marathon, it takes a lot of effort and motivation especially to get out on those cold, dark, wet runs!

I am so proud to be raising money for Contact, the charity that I work for as part of the Business Development team. Keep your eyes peeled for details of some fundraising activities that I will be planning. I appreciate that money is tight but Contact is a fantastic charity and any support you can offer will be much appreciated. With your help, we can get a step closer to putting an end to the poverty, disadvantage and isolation experienced by many families with disabled children across the UK.

Thank you for your support.
