My Story

My Dad received amazing care from the team at St Francis Hospice over 20 years ago during the final few weeks of his life. Despite being such a tough time, I have some fond memories of visiting him in the hospice and know that the team there went above and beyond to make him as comfortable as possible in his final weeks. They even hosted a birthday party for one of his close friends so that he didn't miss out.

Many who know me will know that my Dad was a larger than life character who loved a challenge! You'll also know that I don't consider myself a runner! But thanks to some pressure from a friend I signed up to the London marathon never imagining I'd actually get a place...but I did! So in the spirit of my Dad I'm taking on the challenge and I've decided to set myself a pretty big fundraising target as my Dad never did things by halves so I'm going for it!

I would be so grateful for any amount that you can donate in order to support the hospice and the vital work they carry out. I know that every donation will spur me on during the long runs in the dark and wet winter! And I'm sure they'll be putting a smile on my Dad's face too so thank you in advance!
