Life is short! And for some far shorter than it should be. My sister, Gill, died of ovarian cancer when she was younger than I am now. It's strange to be the older younger sister. Research kept her alive longer than we'd hoped but more desparately needs to be done so other families aren;t left without a mum, a wife, a sister, a daughter...
We need more research and awareness so fewer people go through what Gillian and our family did.
I ran the Great North Run for her in 2019 - having never run before. I'm now taking on the London Marathon as one last push (I know, I know) before I settle myself to grow old 🤞🏼disgracefully.
I googled easy training programs but it seems such a thing doesn't exist. I'll be slow but determined. Gill went through far worse for far longer.
I chose the Eve Appeal as they fund research and raise awareness of all 5 gynae cancers, check them out and get yourself checked out too if you need to...it's probably nothing but...
