My Story

Welcome to my fundraising page dedicated to raising funds for the incredible charity Headway – Surrey. Headway supports individuals and families affected by brain injuries. My brother Harry and I have taken up the exciting challenge of participating in the prestigious London Marathon 2024 to make a difference in the lives of those affected by brain injuries. Please join us on this incredible journey and help us reach our fundraising goal!

Headway Surrey has supported our family immensely over the last year following my brother’s recent brain injury. In April 2022 Harry’s world changed at a drop of a hat following a near-fatal fall at work. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and spent nearly three weeks in an ICU fighting for his life. As a family we recognise the immense impact brain injuries have on individuals and their loved ones. These injuries can be debilitating and affect every aspect of a person's life. By fundraising for Headway, we aim to promote awareness, funding, and provide support to individuals and families navigating the challenges of brain-related injuries.

A brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life walking, talking, thinking, and feeling. The losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing the life you once lived and the person you once were. We all think 'it will never happen to me', but every year around 350,000 people are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. That's one every 90 seconds. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time.

By raising awareness about brain injuries, we can work towards reducing stigma and promote understanding and acceptance within our society.

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact. Your donation will directly support our fundraising efforts for Headway. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by brain injuries.

Please share my fundraising page with your friends, family, and colleagues through social media, email, or word of mouth. By raising awareness about our cause, we can reach more people who may be willing to lend their support.

If you have no plans and are brave enough to face the crowds, please join us on Sunday 21st April. It would be really lovely to see some familiar faces on route.

Harry and I are aiming to raise a whopping £2,000 each towards Headway for all of the support they offered us when nobody else could.

By adding ‘gift aid’ to your donation this can help Headway make an extra 25% on donated goods.

If you are old school and would like to donate via cash please direct message me so I can arrange for the funds to be added to this page.

If you’re still reading this thank you for your time, generosity, and support. We know times are extremely tough right now for everyone and appreciate every donation.
