My Story

Having been fortunate enough to secure a ballot place for the 2024 London Marathon, I wanted to put that place to good use and raise all the pennies I could for a charity that means a huge amount to me and my family.

Some of you will know that my wonderful father passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly in August 2023, whilst fishing on the North Esk. The team that attended to him on that fateful afternoon did so with the utmost professionalism and compassion, and the incredible heli-med team from Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance were on hand to ensure he received swift and expert medical care when it was needed most. Their remarkable service is funded entirely through donations, fundraising and events. As such, my training efforts will be fuelled by the desire to give back to an organisation who went above and beyond in their attempts to save my father's life.

This is for you, Pops.
