My Story

The WHSmith Trust is currently running a project with the National Literacy Trust, delivering live literature events to schools in areas of focus. One of these areas is Swindon which, not only is where I work but, it's where I grew up and went to school. Not only are these schools being given training to support reading for enjoyment, and an in-person author event, but schools are gifted with £150 worth of books every year. Having time to read for enjoyment has shown to increase confidence in reading skills, alongside reading a broader range of materials which comes very useful in further education stages and adulthood.

Therefore I am looking forward to this second opportunity to raise money for the WHSmith Trust. Last year, I participated in the 230th year 23km walk. I love a challenge, and a marathon is definitely a step up from a 23km walk.
