Hodge runs the 2024 TCS London Marathon
The Hodge
My Story
Back in 2017, I tried to take my own life, after an on going struggle with bad mental health and addiction.
Luckily for me, and the people I care about, it was an unsuccessful suicide attempt.
Whilst on the road to recovery, the Samaritans where always there on the end of the phone, to provide comfort in conversation.
With their support, I managed to rehabilitate myself mentallly, physically and spiritually, going on the complete several big life endurance challenges, become a Guinness World Records Holder, and raise £100k+ for various different mental health charities and support groups.
A full U-Turn to where I was some years ago.
Running helped save my life, give me purpose and meaning, and back in 2019 I ran the London Marathon; which still remains my favourite race / event I've ever took part in.
Fast forward five years and I get to do it all over again, only this time, I will be doing it on behalf of The Samaritans, in hopes I can act as a catalyst to show others, that life is for living, and you can, and will always be able to achieve your goals.
