David's London Marathon 2024
David Anderson
My Story
For many, many years I have wanted to take part in this amazing spectacle to add to my list of personal achievements in endurance events.
To be able to run on behalf of Dyscover however, outweighs any personal achievement. It gives me the opportunity to give back by raising money, representing and in doing so say thank you for doing such a fantastic job with a close family member of mine. I know it will mean a lot to my family to be able to do this on behalf of him and everyone involved, so it will be a special day and I can't wait to do it!
I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with the inspirational members of Dyscover and the truly brilliant volunteers that work there. Any contribution therefore would of course be really appreciated, as Dyscover continue their great work, for which my family has experienced first hand.
For those that don't know, Dyscover is a charity providing long-term support and opportunities to people with aphasia and their families. People with aphasia have difficulty reading, writing and understanding what is being said. This disability is caused by a stroke, head injury or other illness.
Dyscover will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in April 2024, adding to the excitment of taking part in the London Marathon at the same time!
