My Story

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

I live in Basildon, Essex and on the 20th of March 2002 I was transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in London, where I had triplets (2 girls and a boy).

The babies were very premature and were born at 28 weeks (3 months early).  St. Mary's was the only hospital that was able to help as they had 3 intensive incubators available on the Winnicot Unit.

My babies all weighed just under 3lb each and needed a lot of dedicated care from the NICU ward.  Every day was a constant worry, but the staff were amazing and sportive.  Taking time to explain all the procedures that were happening.  Very slowly each baby got stronger and were able to breathe on their own.

After 3 weeks the babies were transferred back to my local hospital in Basildon to continue their care.

I have never forgotten the love, care and dedication that my family received from COSMIC.  They don't just care for the children but for the rest of the family as well.

My children Taylor, Charlie and Amy turned 21 in March 2023 and I have decided that I will try to raise as much money as I can by running the grulling 26.2 miles of the London marathon in April 2024.

I want to try and help other families to get the wonderful support that I received.  Cosmic is the most wonderful charity that helps so many children and families.
