My Story

Running for Darcy

Two years ago, my brother tragically lost his beautiful daughter and my niece, Darcy, on the 21st July 2021 at the young age of 23 through a road traffic accident. This is something that no family should have to go through, but our lives were changed forever, and have never been the same since.

During our time of need, the Laura Centre; a Leicestershire based charity that supports families through bereavement have been exceptional with my Brother and family, providing us with a place to express grief in an environment that has been safe, understanding and confidential.

The Laura Centre are a charity that relies entirely on the generosity of donations and fundraising in order to continue providing the fantastic support that they do.

In memory of Darcy, and to try and help the Laura Centre to continue to provide exceptional service to families like mine, I have secured a place in next year’s London Marathon (2024) in order to try and raise as much money as possible so that they can continue to support other families through difficult times now, and in the future.

The 26.2-mile London Marathon will be one of the most difficult challenges I’ve ever faced, for the most worthy cause I could ever imagine.

With your help, I’d like to try and raise over £1,500. Every donation from as little as £1 would be greatly appreciated by myself, my family, and the Laura Centre – Thank you.
