My Story
In January 2016, I lost my grandad to lung cancer. Me and him were extremely close. We used to read together, wind up my nan together and have tickle fights which we my favourite. Raising money in his memory is why I wanted to run for this amazing charity. My grandad was also called Roy so running with 'Roy's Runners' on the back on the vest holds a massive sentimental value and quite a lot of emotion.
I am not only running for my grandad, I know many friends and family who have had loved ones suffering with lung cancer including some today and sadly many of these have loss their battle. It is the most common cause of cancer and with diagnosis often being made in more advanced stages, it is really important to me and the other people running for this amazing charity that will continue to raise as much money as possible to fund research and also support families facing lung cancer.
