My Story

Well, this is a painful edit/update...But I think it is about time I update you all on my Marathon journey so far and my story.

As previously shared, my family have faced many lows in the last 2 years. In 2022, we were told that my mums cancer had returned after 3 years of remission, and in 2023 we were told there was no cure and that her time was limited. On the 2nd of December my family gained our Snow Angel. We truly learnt the feeling of a broken heart and it has been a extremely challening to continue on with life but with eachother and mum in our hearts, we do.

I found some notes on mums phone from March 2023 that show how incredible she was and always will be and words I will be taking with me to the London Marathon:

"I will not stress over the things I cannot control. I've given my fears and worries to God, and I'll let him take over.

I love people who make me laugh, I think it's what I love to do most. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.

Find a life worth enjoying

Take risks

Love deeply

Have no regrets"

I will say, my mum was an unbelievable woman who rarely showed her pain, she never failed to care for others even when she felt this life is cruel and unfair. This awful experience has taught us all how precious time, love, laughter, energy, health, and happiness truly is.

Imagine being able to laugh 10 minutes after being told your life could be limited to less than a year? You wouldn't believe the laughs we have had at some of the darkest times, but my family has learnt that moping around does nothing but make matters worse and this is one of many reasons why I am constantly in awe of my mum, dad, and brother🥰

This challenge is honestly nothing really, every day 60 women are diagnosed with one of the five gynaecological cancers. This is not something I can complain about, although I will as I am a terrible TRAGIC runner STILL😭, this is however a way to show all women facing one of the five Gynae cancers, that we will do ANYTHING to raise awareness and funds so that they can hope this vile disease can one day be eradicated.

✨My beautiful mum chose to ignore the estimated "life expectancy" we were told and she still proved this time frame wrong, she will continue to be a story people use in future when they need a story of strength and motivation. There is hope in things that have not yet happened, continuing to manifest miracles for everyone in 2024!!

Your donation can help greatly, every donation no matter the amount is immensely appreciated and will contribute to this amazing charity that, in my opinion, deserves so much more recognition and support🤍
