My Story
So... this may take all of you by surprise, it sure does me! But you are reading it right.. I am doing the London Marathon, and I am so proud to be doing it for Delilah, and this charity very close to our hearts.
I have started my training and will have completed 3 half marathons by March 2024. So I promise I am taking this seriously.
As most of you know I am a very proud Nanny to an amazing little girl called Delilah. Delilah is such a loving, funny little lady and I just feel so honoured to be apart of her world.
At 6 weeks old Delilah was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare Liver Disease found in 1 in 17000 babies. After several weeks of scans, blood tests and a liver biopsy, she required an operation known as a Kasai procedure to try and prolong the life of her liver. She now requires daily medication and 6-monthly visits to Kings College Hospital. Unfortunately, there is no cure for Biliary Atresia and 80% of children diagnosed will require a liver transplant by the time they are 20.
The research and support that CLDF carry out is so very important and to raise money for this cause is not just an honour but will also the charity continue its amazing work, giving hope to so many children and families.
Thank you for reading this and your support. It means more to me and my family, more than you will ever know 💛💛
