My Story

In March 2023 my best friend and beautiful father was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. After several unsuccesful biopsys, we later found out that dads cancer was terminal and our precious time together was running out. Both myself and my sister got married quickly over the summer so that we could share our special day with him. In September 2023 we sadly lost our hero.

Dad was an incredible fighter, he showed this throughout his life, battling severe Rheumatoid arthritis, numerous other health issues and recovering from a stroke. He was an incredible role model and inspiration. Through training I'm hoping that I will adopt his fighting spirit. I'm running the London marathon to support all those families who face similar heartbreak.

Dad was the most caring, kind, loving, witty and beautiful soul. He was really happy when I told him that I'd got a place to run the London Marathon 2024 for Roy Castle, he often enjoyed watching it on the TV. I know he thought it was a lovely idea, but knew it would be a big feet as the most I've ever ran is 10k which was at a real push!

Roy Castle are dedicated to early detection, raising awarness, research and supporting patients and carers with their Ask the Nurse Helpline, which we ourselves used.

Thank you so much for your support.
