My Story

On Sunday 21st April I will be running the London Marathon for CARDIOMYOPATHY UK.

After not being able to run last year, due to injury, I am very grateful to the team at Cardiomyopathy UK to allow me a place for the 2024 London marathon!

CARDIOMYOPATHY UK is the specialist national charity for people affected by cardiomyopathy, an inherited disease of the heart muscle which reduces its ability to pump blood around the body. You may remember footballers Fabrice Mamba and Christian Eriksen both suffering cardiac arrests during football games. This was due to cardiomyopathy. Unfortunately this disease can affect anyone of any age, regardless of their fitness, with very little, if any, pre-warning. The charity supports children, young people and adults and help them cope with the uncertainity of living with a life threatening condition.

It is a charity which is very close to my heart, as my Godmother was diagnosed with the disease a couple of years ago. Since then, the charity have provided invaluable support to both her and her family on how to live with cardiomyopathy.

Running a marathon has been on my bucket-list so I am looking forward to taking on the challenge!

Please feel free to follow my progress through my strava below!

Any donations would be hugely appreciated.

THANK YOU! Xx
