After a very busy 2023 and a quiet festive period, I am delighted to report that my formal marathon training plan has commenced and I am into Week 2 of 16 ahead of the BIG Day - 21 April!
THANK YOU to all those who have supported and sponsored me and my cause so far.
I would really appreciate more HELP (and £sss!). THANK YOU
Did you know 1 in 7 females are diagnosed with breast cancer and 1 in 350 men every year!
My wife Bobbi, was diagnosed with Breast cancer in Feburary 2023 after discovering a lump in her left breast. The Breast Care Team at North Devon District Hosptial (Barnstaple) were amazing in supporting her. Moreover, her surgeon provided her (and me) the confidence, at a dark time, that all would be done to address the cancer. It has been a very difficult time for Bobbi and the family.
Following a succesful lumpectomy surgery and radiothrapy, she is recovering well. The Breast Cancer NOW Team held a seminar recently in NDDH Barnstaple, which Bobbi attended and where she met other ladies who were going through similar journeys. Meeting such inspirational women in this setting, factilitated by the Breast Cancer Now team, has really helped Bobbi better understand her illness and how to cope, going forward. It has and remains a challenge, but she is in such a better place and Breast Cancer NOW has made a real positive difference!
To make matters worse, my sister in law Janet was also diagnosed with breast cancer during this same period! It has truly been an horrific time for her, my brother Jimmy and her family. Following surgery and radiotherapy I am pleased to report she too is on her road to full recovery, but not without the stress and anxiety which cancer brings with it!
In order to provide continued support to Bobbi, Janet and many others like her, I am challenging myself to run the TCS London Marathon on 21 April 2024. Please help the charity by donating and supporting me through my training and on the day!
You're all amazing.

26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
