On April 21st 2024 I shall be running the London Marathon in aid of Guide Dogs. Having never run a marathon before this will be a huge challenge! I am hoping to raise £2000 to help the work Guide Dogs provide throughout the UK.
I see the benefits a guide dog provided for by Guide Dogs UK have in the life of a visually impaired individual very frequently. Guide Dogs fund these dogs, from their extensive training to their vet bills and food. They not only give the dogs a great working life but also a lovely, and well deserved retirement.
More than 2 million people in the UK are living with sight loss and around 180,000 of those rarely leave the house. A guide dog provides a lifeline for those individuals.
