My Story

I am super excited to say that in April I will be running the London marathon, just 6 days before my wedding. I'm doing this to support an incredible charity: Fight for Sight (recently merged with the Vision Foundation). Here's hoping I am still able to walk down the aisle!

It was on our second date that my fiancé Matt shared with me that he has Choroideremia, a genetic condition which progressively affects his vision. It typically starts with the loss of night vision in the early teens, followed by the gradual loss of peripheral vision and eventually leads to significant sight impairment later in life.

Fight for Sight funds vital research into many different sight loss conditions, including Choroideremia via the Tommy Salisbury Choroideremia Fund. Their recent merger with the Vision Foundation expands their mission to not only fund medical research but also to raise awareness and improve accessibility for those living with sight loss.

If you would like to support me your contribution, no matter the amount, will have a real impact:

 - A £10 donation can provide sensory toys that bring joy to a visually impaired child.

 - With a £25 donation, the Vision Foundation can help a visually impaired person access one-on-one mentoring, providing valuable support and guidance.

 - A generous £50 donation can help make domestic abuse services accessible for blind and partially sighted individuals, including accessible websites and refuges, making the world a safer place for everyone.

 - Your incredible gift of £100 could provide vital accessibility training for a text helpline volunteer, enabling them to better assist and empower those in need.

Your support will not only make a difference in the lives of individuals like my fiancé Matt but also countless others facing the challenges of sight loss. Please consider making a donation, and know that your contribution will have a significant impact. Thank you for helping to motivate me through those long training runs!
