My Story

Hi everyone, I’m excited to announce that I will be running the London Marathon 2024 for WaterAid, a charity that works to provide clean water and sanitation to millions of people around the world. Water is after all a basic and fundamental right, and I believe everyone should have access to it.

My running journey took a new leap during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to cope with the stress and anxiety of the lockdowns. I found running to be a great source of joy and freedom in an otherwise restrictive environment and I soon became passionate about it. I ran my first half marathon in 2021, and since then I have also completed an unofficial marathon with a friend. Running has changed my life for the better, and I want to use it to make a positive difference in the world whilst fulfilling a life long goal of participating in The London Marathon.

Thus, I decided to take on the challenge of running the London Marathon 2024, one of the most iconic and prestigious races in the world. I’m aware it won’t be easy, but I’m determined to train hard, make a commitment and finish strong.

I have set myself a fundraising target of £2,000, which will help WaterAid to reach more people with clean water and sanitation.

I would really appreciate your support and generosity in this endeavour.  Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge impact on the lives of people who need it most. Thank you so much in advance for your kindness and encouragement.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can run for water.

A little about WaterAid:

WaterAid is an international not-for-profit federation, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone everywhere within a generation.

We started in 1981, when several UK water companies came together to find a solution to a global crisis that had left billions without water, toilets or hygiene.

We all need clean water, no matter who or where we are.

And we all need to play our part so that everyone, everywhere can get it.

Some Statistics:

1in10 people don't have clean water – and climate change is making it worse.

771 million people are living without clean water close to home.

Every 2 seconds a woman gives birth in a health centre without clean water.

Globally, 29% of schools don’t have clean water and 28% lack decent toilets.

Living without safely managed water, sanitation and hygiene services contributes to 1.6 million deaths from preventable diseases each year.
