My Story

Why do this? I want to make a contribution to the Whittington Health Charity. I work at the Whittington Hospital and see firsthand the impact the charity brings: to patients, visitors and staff. If you want to know more, read on below.

Why the London Marathon? This will be my first ever marathon. It’s my long term dream to complete one!

Why now, why not before? Lots of reasons why this year is the year: fractured fibula, COVID, young children, general fear…

The longer story:

I am a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Whittington Hospital for almost four years, and have worked at the hospital on and off for almost seven years. Two of my children were born here.

The Whittington Health Charity works to make a difference to the experience of patients, visitors and staff at this much-loved north London hospital. The charity’s work has an impact across the Trust, but closest to my heart is the transformations it has made to maternity and women’s services: a refurbished birth centre, improved counselling rooms, a new ultrasound machine and more. The Trust has an ambition to build a new maternity hospital and so there has never been a better time to make a contribution.
