My Story

Hi everyone,

If you know me, you’re probably quite surprised to see me here!

I’ve completed two half marathons in my life so far, and when I’ve staggered across the finish line both times, with legs like lead, I can recall thinking, “there’s just no way I could turn around and run all the way back now", head shaking to cement said thought. They were words of advice to the future ambitious me; if I ever felt the urge to register for a marathon ballot, I should recall this moment clearly.

But, I believe that you shouldn’t always listen to your own words of advice.

I could easily wonder after these experiences why I’m here. But when I was offered the chance to run for WEvolution by one of our Trustees, part of me felt like I could do this, and that's the part that made me accept the place, and the part that is helping me through each week of training now.

We’re living in a troubled world right now, but I have the privilege of working for a small charity doing big things, and I’d love to raise some extra awareness and pounds for them. Scotland is full of women with untapped potential, creativity, and entrepreneurial ambition, but we’re working to change that, and that is a cause worth supporting.

I think so, anyway.

Thank you for being here – I won’t be running alone that day; your support will be alongside me too, and that’s huge.
