My Story
It is 5 years since my last London Marathon, and I am back in, and clocking the miles training again. A lot has changed since 2019, and there is now a little person to factor in! Many of you will know that Freya's arrival in July 2021 took us by surprise, as she was born 10 weeks early. Last time I ran London, I didn't fundraise at all, but due to our experiences following Freya's birth, it feels right to be running to raise money for a premature baby charity this time.
Mark and I will always be incredibly grateful for the amazing NHS care Freya received, and for all the support given to us at a challenging time. For us, it was pretty much always a case of 'just growing' Freya, before we could bring her home. For others, very sadly, it is a different story...
Emily's Star is a local charity to us, based in Milton Keynes, and close to our hearts. A huge thank you if you are able to sponsor me, and in doing so, give to this wonderful charity that supports premature babies and children with complex needs and their families.
