My Story

Hello! I am taking on the London Classics in aid of SSAFA. This is made up of 3 events.

First up is the TCS London Marathon in April 2024. Once again I will be pushing far beyond my previous longest distance which was a 10 miler. This is the one I'll be dreading the most, as I am not one of life's natural runners.

Next up in May will be the Ride London-Essex 100-mile Sportive. Again this will be the furthest I have ever travelled on a bike.

Finally in September is Swim Serpentine. A 2-mile open water swim in the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park. Having only ever swam 400m outdoors in competition this will be quite a challenge. Especially with a 90-minute time limit to hit.

SSAFA the Armed Forces charity is a cause that is very close to my heart having supported my family throughout my career. They provided respite when we suffered a family crisis. And they've contributed to the personal development of my children through Adventure Holidays. Holidays where they were supported through their individual special needs and given the opportunity to do activities that they could never have experienced without the additional support.

Please help me reach my target of £2,500 and support our Armed Forces community!

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of practical, emotional, and financial support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families in their time of need. In 2021 our trained teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 66,000 people, from Second World War veterans to those who have served in more recent conflicts, or currently serving (both regulars and reserves), and their families.

SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. And we are here for that person and their family, any time they need us and in any way they need us.
