My Story

Hey,

Thank you for visiting this page, wherever you may be coming from.

Running the London Marathon has long been high on my bucket list, and I vowed to accomplish it before turning 40. Here I am, at 39 years and 2 weeks old, just a few months away from achieving that goal. On April 21st, I'll be following in the footsteps of friends and family who have run before, with my twin boys and those nearest and dearest watching from the sidelines (anyone else pop on down I'll catch you for a beer after).

My running journey began 5 years ago. After a turbulent period in my life, I was encouraged to take up running to clear my head and stay healthier. It not only helped on those fronts but more. I encourage anyone to give it a go, whether it's running 1 mile or a full marathon.

After losing my spot to run the marathon due to Covid, I was given the opportunity to run for Ark Globe Academy, a mixed all-through school with student age ranging from 4-18 located in Elephant and Castle, Southwark.

The school works with students ranging from 4 to 18, providing primary, secondary, and 6th form education.

As a parent of young children myself, I am passionate about ensuring a fair education for everyone, especially those who may not have the basic opportunities to succeed in life. In an area facing some deprivation, the school offers a tremendous opportunity for students to become successful leaders in their community.

Your donations will directly support the students by providing better facilities and environments and aiding their day-to-day learning.

In these challenging times for everyone, I understand it's a tough ask for donations, but any amount you can spare will be much appreciated.

Best,

Fooks
