I am running London Marathon for a fantastic charity called Fallen Angels Dance Theatre!
Fallen Angels Dance Theatre are the only company in the UK providing exeptional experiences for people in recovery! At FADT everyone is accepted for who they are, they are valued and supported to reach their full potential. Recovery artists are at the very heart of the work, developing dance skills in workshops, sharing their stories in research and development, and for some, auditioning and performing in their professional company.
Knowing myself what an immense impact sports can have on mental health care, I didn't think twice when I was offered this amazing fundraising opportunity.
Running one of the most famous and iconic marathons in the world is a huge challenge for myself. I have been pondering about it for many years but never plugged the courage to do it. But knowing I am entering this huge race for such a good cause is giving me the motivation and encouragement I need.
If Fallen Angels dancers can come through recovery and find the strength to embark on their journey, surely I can find the energy and bravery to run London Marathon.
My target is to raise £2000. This money will fund dance and movement workshops for people in recovery from addiction or mental health adversary.
As they say: Every little helps and it will be so appreciated!
