My Story
Thank you for visitng My Charity Page.
This year I decided to up my running experiences and get healthier so when Youngs Pubs asked me if I wanted to run the iconic London Marathon for the Wooden Spoon charity, it was an offer I could not refuse.
Wooden Spoon is the children's charity of rugby. I'm fundraising for this charity because they are, through the power of rugby, increasing the opportunities available to children in the area .
Rugby can be a powerful tool to achieve social inclusivity and the charity is trying to positively transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people. Also, they fund other projects in the community , such as as specialist school play areas, sensory rooms and many more .
Closer to home in 2017, Wooden Spoon has helped to open an inclusive sports facility at the heart of the Forest community Special School. The school which caters for children from 3 to 19 with severe and profound learning difficulites, has benefitted from better access to their cycling track, large grass field and play area equipment.
