My Story

I started doing some running during Covid when my usual sport activities were unavailable. Now it has got serious!

I've always wanted to run a marathon and when the opportunity arose to take on the London Marathon on behalf of Samaritans it seemed like a challenge I could not turn down.

Regrettably everyone in the rail industry is touched by suicide in some way. Through my work in the control centre I am well aware of the numbers of people who seek help through Samaritans and the great work they do. Samaritans support is not only as a voice in times of need, but also in training rail staff so that they feel confident to make interventions which could just save a life if someone is in crisis.

If you can spare a donation to this worthy cause it would be appreciated by me and the charity. Knowing that my run is helping others will certainly encorage me over that finish line.

You can check out my training progress (or lack of) on Strava.
26.2 miles is certainly going to be a challenge!
