My Story

My Road to the London Marathon

Cancer, it's 1 in 2, that's either me or you...

I’ve been chosen to run the London Marathon on behalf of Fujitsu for Cancer Research UK (CRUK)

I won’t lie my initial response to getting the Congratulations it's You!! I was a little sick in my mouth, what have I done??

Such a mix of emotions, I feel very privileged and at the same time overwhelmed. I’m not a natural runner, but it saved me in my early days of becoming a mum to give me head space. A marathon is a huge challenge for me.

The reason I wanted to do it – London Marathon is such an iconic event, a runners dream I apply every year with no success but to also run for a charity that now means so much to me Cancer Research UK (CRUK), makes it all the sweeter. My mother, aunt and sister all fought and survived bowel cancer. My father-in-law has also recently been diagnosed with bladder cancer; I will be running for them.

If anyone has any running stories or advice for London, appreciate any support.
