My Story

Hello everyone,

Like many people, I have entered the ballot for the London Marathon on a number of occasions and have not made the cut. Unfortunately, I opened an email last summer to say I was in for 2024.

I strongly considered ignoring it before deciding not to pass up this opportunity, so I paid the entry fee and embarked upon several months without training.

Worried about a potential DNF, I started to hit the pavement in January and have since completed my first half marathon.

After ticking off that milestone, I have decided to use this as a chance to raise money for SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) UK.

SMA is a rare genetic condition that causes progressive muscle wastage and affects many lives, including that of my late grandmother, Mary.

SMA UK provides emotional and practical support for anyone effected by SMA and fund research related activities.

This charity needs support and it would mean an awful lot to me if you could make my suffering worthwhile with a donation of any kind.

Thanks,

Joe
