My Story
I am running the London Marathon in aid of Helen and Douglas House - and in loving memory of Hemming Vramsmo, the nine year old son on Katherine and Haaken.
Katherine, Haaken and I all work for the fabuous touring opera company Opera Brava - and Hemming, from the age of three, would join us on tour in the summer as we travelled up and down the country. A more delightful, cheerful and happy little boy you could not wish to find.
Hemming was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer a year ago. Tragically, his treatment was unsuccessful and he died on 17th October, 2023.
Helen & Douglas House cared for Hemming in his final days and made life as good as it could be for Hemming, Katherine and Haaken. They said, of Helen & Douglas House, 'He had round the clock care and we were allowed to sleep together in the same room so he was never alone. He had a musician sing to him, his bed was wheeled out to the garden to lie in the sun, even a miniature pony visited his bedside and he was looked after with compassion and the most gentle care.'
The charity need our support so that they can continue to help to bring light in the darkest of times.
Thank you so much.
