My Story

Hi all,

Thanks for coming to my Just Giving page!

This April I will be taking part in the London Marathon after years of trying for a ballot space. Its long been an ambition of mine to complete this famous race and I can't wait to get there now. I have been out doing my early morning training runs and clocking up the miles (and new trainers) since I found out I was successful last July.

I am hoping to raise as much money as I can along this journey for Brain Tumour Reserach. This is an organisation I knew very little about until the sudden death of a very dear friend and work colleague from this terrible cancer last year. Matt Douglas was a much loved and well respected member of our Building Standards team at Stirling Council, and we miss him greatly. This is a great national charity that does fantastic work focusing on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours, campaigning for increased government funding and establishing seven national research centres.

If there is anything we can do to support research into finding a cure for this disease then I think we should all get behind it. The more people I speak to, it seems we all know someone that has battled this horrible condition.

I would be grateful for any contribution you are willing to make, regardless of how large or small, to support this worthy cause.

Thank you all in advance!

Cheers,

John-Paul
