My Story

Hi Everyone,

In 2023, I decided to embark on a health and fitness journey to better my own physical and mental wellbeing. I started running to aid my progress and soon realised that I’d fallen in love with the sport. Being a PE teacher in a local primary school, I believe it's important to lead by example and running is a great way to demonstrate a healthy and active lifestyle to my students.

When I first taught Stanley P.E, it was clear that he had a love for sport and it would always bring a smile to his face. Unfortunately, Stanley was diagnosed with Posterior Fossa Group A (PFA) Ependymoma Grade III in 2021; a form of brain tumour that has since developed into a secondary tumour on the brain and spread to his spine. There is no cure for Stanley’s cancer but chemotherapy is ongoing to help him as much as possible.

On Sunday 21st April 2024, I will be running the London Marathon in aid of Children with Cancer UK. Around 10 children are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK and cancer is one of the biggest causes of death in people under the age of 15. Children with Cancer UK fund life-saving research to develop kinder treatments so that more children can survive without life-inhibiting side effects. They provide vital support to families by giving them the opportunity to create lasting memories whilst also funding the practicalities so that parents don’t have to: accommodation, hospital transport and medical equipment.

I really appreciate any donations that can be made, or if you are unable to make a donation at this time, please share this story with your friends and family.

Thank you for all your support.

Lots of love,
Jord ❤️
