My Story
Earlier this year, our family experienced the heartbreaking loss of our Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew & Cousin, Ed.
At 13 months old, Ed was diagnosed with meningitis, setting off a journey marked by over 35 surgeries spanning 18 years. Despite the relentless challenges he faced, Ed stayed positive in adversity and kept pushing on & always managed to get everyone around him laughing and smiling - he was our hero.
We as a family & like many others that knew him are devastated and would of loved to experience more of life with Ed & it will never be the same without him, but in just a short amount of time he had achieved so much & had such a positive impact on countless amounts of people. We will carry the memories and honour his positive attitude for the rest of our lives.
Thanks to charities like the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF), Ed was able to live a fulfilling and joyous life, bringing happiness to the lives of everyone around him. Although Ed recovered from meningitis, he faced various other complications as a result. We are deeply grateful for the groundbreaking research conducted by MRF, which has undoubtedly saved countless lives. Now, I am honoured to play a part in furthering their mission by raising collective funds to support ongoing research and ultimately reduce the risks associated with this disease.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in honouring Ed's memory and advancing vital research.
I only have 8 weeks to train for the marathon & have never participated in long distance running, but I am excited for the challenge and I will make sure to carry Ed's memory in each stride.
Thank you for joining us on this journey and for your generous support.
For you Ed ❤️
