My Story

I'm going to be taking on the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April, in support of Chain of Hope.

Why I'm running...
Whilst I have never been the most athletic of people, I managed to run a half marathon in 2021. Fast forward a couple of years and enough time has passed for me to forget the pain and struggle, and get it in my head to complete a full marathon. And of course, it has to be the London Marathon!

Am I slightly crazy for wanting to run 26 miles? Quite possibly. But am I doing it to support an awesome cause? Absolutely, yes!

Who are Chain of Hope?
Every year, thousands of children die needlessly from treatable heart disease. Chain of Hope works to bring life-saving heart treatments to children in developing and war-torn countries, where it is most needed.

This is a cause close to my heart (excuse the pun!), as my own heart defect was discovered and corrected in childhood - something that I would not have had access to if I was born in one of the countries that Chain of Hope supports.

Chain of Hope work hard to make their donations achieve as much as possible - £8,500 can provide a life-saving procedure that would normally cost in excess of £30,000. This is possible through their network of cardiac professionals who donate their time for free, and hospitals that provide subsidised operating slots and procedures.

I would be incredibly touched if you could help this amazing charity by sponsoring my marathon effort. Every donation helps give the gift of life, and will be a huge encouragement for me as I run those 26.2 miles!

Thank you for any and all donations.

Wish me luck!
