My Story

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe I'm saying this but after 8 years of applying I'm running the 2024 London marathon as a part of the Alzheimer's society team!!

As many as you know, my crazy Nan (Hilda) was diagnosed with dementia back in 2021. Hilda has and always will be one of my best friends, through the laughter and the bickering I wouldn't change her for the world. From a young age I have always wanted to spend as much time with my nan as possible and even through this whirlwind of a illness she still manages to make me cry with laughter. 

With someone developing dementia every three minutes, dementia is set to be the UK’s biggest killer, affecting all our futures. It doesn’t discriminate, it devastates lives, and right now there’s no cure. Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, fund research and are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice.


So any donation, no matter what the size, would be hugely appreciated! 

The marathon training is going to be one hell of a ride but knowing I'm doing it for such a amazing charity and for the lunatic that is Hilda makes the challenge worthwhile 🤍
