My Story

Last year, just after losing my dad, I lost my best friend David after an accident out at sea and there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t miss him endlessly. Having met at university, he became my friend through our studies but very quickly became my best friend and someone I couldn’t go a day without, very literally.

In the immediate days after the accident, the RNLI put in a relentless search and rescue effort, I am incredibly grateful for the hard work they put in and the work they do in general.

David was the kind of friend you could call and just know he would say yes. A 10k run...? YES! A night out? YES! A study session? YES! We were inseparable at university and every day I miss having him in my life. He always told me I should run a marathon, 'never in a million years' I would say... well now, I've finally given in, just for him.

Though I'm sad he won't be there to cheer me on and tease me (with silly nicknames like Lus and Sudders) throughout the whole 42.2km, I really hope I do him proud. Any donations that can be spared would be greatly appreciated and any running buddies also welcome!
