My Story

Hello! I am taking on the TCS London Marathon in 2024 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Please help me reach my target of £2,500 and support our Armed Forces community!

As some of you may know I run a lot and have done a couple of marathons already, London has always been on my radar and after yet again not getting a ballot place I decided to run for charity.

I’ve also come to the realization that at 51 I think the training and hard work that I have to put into 26.2 miles is going to be behind me soon and so London 2024 will be my last full marathon.

I have taken a charity place for a military charity called SAAFA.

They are an armed forces charity specializing in emotional, medical and financial support for veterans and existing servicemen and women. My husband Kevin served in the army and special forces early on in his career and SAAFA helped him deal with some of the trauma he experienced so this charity is close to my heart. Many of you know that Kevin died just over a year ago and therefor this final marathon will be run in his memory and to help the many service men and women who continue to suffer every day.

So please, every penny counts, I have to raise £1000 by Christmas and £2500 by April so if anyone has anything to spare then I will be very grateful.

Training is going well, I ran the Great North Run two weeks ago and the Robin Hood Half yesterday, getting faster and a PB for a half marathon yesterday is keeping me going!
