My Story

Hi Everyone,

I am running the 2024 London Marathon in memory of my grandad Albert Reed.

My chosen charity is Saint Francis Hospice who specialise in offering care to anyone who has been diagnosed with a serious illness in the Essex area. Saint Francis Hospice is an independent charity, providing end of life care with a promise to making everyone’s life the very best it can be. The dedicated GP’s, community nurses, specialists and dedicated volunteers provide both emotional and physical support for anyone nearing the end of life. Speaking from personal experience, the care provided to my grandad was second to none meaning his final few days were spent truly at peace.

As a result of only 28% of costs being paid by the government, Saint Francis Hospice is required to raise more than £8 million every year to provide this expert care. The generous donations from people like you and the support provided by over 870 volunteers, bring invaluable support to those who need it most. On behalf of all those affected, their loved ones, families and staff thank you for taking the time to visit my donation page and any donation is hugely appreciated.

In loving memory of Albert Reed 3/7/1935 – 1/5/2021
