My Story
It’s always been my dream to run the London Marathon but the Marathon is more than just 26.2 miles. It’s a run doing it for all the right reasons and these reasons came about last year.
My brother in-law was diagnosed with leukaemia and has faced a tough battle in beating this illness. The whole time he has done it with great bravery and faced the challenge head on. This challenge has been supported by Anthony Nolan with stem cell transplantation and the most high quality nurses. Antony Nolan has been a charity that has always been close to my family. My Nan passed away when I was 9 months old with this terrible illness and ever since different members of the family have worked with Antony Nolan. By me running the marathon I want to not only support Xander and his battle but keep up my families tradition of supporting this great charity in developing the research to create even more treatment and cures to saving lives just as other members of the family have.
This amazing charity has done so much for my family and has now given me the opportunity to achieve one of my dreams. With the amazing support of Emma, Lara and Pepper I’m going to fulfil this dream but at the same time give back to Anthony Nolan who have given so much to my family.
So come on support me in my training, fundraising and then in the marathon itself. I’m going to be out in the cold winter nights on few hours sleep (thanks Lara) training so to get me through this any money you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Whether we are connected through family, friends, work, cricket club or just life I’m counting on your support.
