My Story

Hi I'm Shell , it's always been a dream to run the famous London Marathon. I've applied for many years (9 to be precise) and never been able to obtain a place but this year I applied to run for this amazing charity and I got a YES. I'm so happy I get to raise money to help this charitys work continue and run one of my dream runs x Please be kind and give what you can.Every penny will help I promise.

About the charity

Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support

Supporting children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes

This year, 90 families in the UK will be told their babies have no eyes, small eyes, or a cleft in the eye. Many of them will have additional needs or other health challenges. Some will be told there’s no hope that their child will ever see. They may feel hopeless and alone - but they are not alone and there is hope.

MACS is the UK's national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. We help over 3000 people from 1000 families across the UK, supporting them at every stage of their journey by providing peer support, practical help and opportunities to take part in life-changing activity trips.

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
