My Story

On Easter Sunday 2009 the children & I lost a wonderful father & husband, when Michael passed away from his 5 year dance with Kidney Cancer. 

Kidney cancer is now the seventh most common cancer in the UK, accounting for three per cent of all new cancer cases. Kidney research could save and prolong the lives of thousands of patients every year.

I am running the London Marathon on April 21st 2024 with a warm up  marathon at  the Maratón Valencia on December 03rd 2023 (COMPLETED)

I would be very graeful and apreicate donations during my journey.  My quest involves extensive training and participation in various half marathons along the way.  Reigate Half Marathon Sept 17th 2023 (COMPLETED), Richmond Half Marathon Oct 15th 2023 (COMPLETED), The High Performance London Half Marathon March 3rd 2024 (COMPLETED). Additionally I COMPLETED a daunting 4-day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu, overcoming acrophobia and basiphobia (Jan 2024)

Aisling, Dougie, Niamh, Beanie & Patrick are now young adults. It is an amazing journey being their sole carer and I am privleged to have this honour, but it has been hard without the love of my life by my side.
