My Story

I am running the 2024 London Marathon to raise money in memory of my Grandad, Doug, who sadly lost his battle with Dementia in August 2023.

Since my Grandad was diagnosed in 2019, it has been heartbreaking for my family to watch him deteriorate from the intelligent, kind, loving and funny man he was. My Nan did an amazing job of caring for him up until March 2023 when his condition became much worse and he moved into a care home.

There are over 55 million people with dementia worldwide. There is currently no cure, but a lot can be done to support those living with the illness and those who care for them.

The money I raise will go to Dementia Concern, a charity that provide a helping hand to those living with dementia, and their loved ones at every stage of the journey.
