My Story

Hello! Thank you so much for choosing to support Dementia UK. They do amazing work and have helped countless families, including my own.

I am running this marathon for two people. Firstly, for my Grandma, who sadly passed away at the end of last year from vascular dementia.

We all loved her very much, not least for her style, sass and wit. But dementia is a horrible disease which slowly took all these things away from her.

Unfortunately, dementia doesn't let up. My girlfriend’s Dad was diagnosed with the same disease in 2019 and her family continue to battle the daily frustrations and confusions of life with dementia. 

Dementia UK supports thousands of dementia sufferers, their families and loved ones. Any support you could give - regardless how small - would be massively appreciated.
